Frequently Asked Questions

A: There are four kennels and Doggy Digs is licensed to take 8 dogs, single dogs would never share a kennel with another dog

A: There are no set times, owners can choose what time suits them best although preferably between 8am and 6pm. It's always best to make an appointment so I can ensure the smooth running of the kennels and keep the rest of the animals in their walking routine.

A: Everything that your dog needs, bedding, toys, leads, bowls etc,  is available at the kennels but if you wish to bring your own things that is fine, a word of warning though your bedding may come home rather muddy as the dogs are walked in the forest!

A: I have some brands of dog food available but if you wish your dog to have a particular kind either let me know as soon as possible or bring the food with you, it makes no difference to the price either way.

A: All dogs are walked in the forest twice per day unless there is a reason why they are unable to. At other times, weather permitting, dogs can be outside playing/ mixing with other kennel dogs and my own pets under supervision.

A: Yes, there is a large area for the dogs to run around but this can be split into 2 areas to allow dogs to be kept apart. Please let me know if you do not wish your dog to mix with others.

A: It will always be me.

A: I understand that owners are often anxious when they are leaving their pets so I am happy for people to contact me at home or on my mobile if they would like some reassurance.

A:No
A:Yes, again by appointment.

A:No that is fine, make sure you bring enough medication to cover your dog’s stay.
A:I will contact your usual vet and arrange to take your dog to an appointment. If you wish to be consulted first please let me know. If your own vet is unavailable the vet I take my dogs to will see your dog.

Q:Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
A:Yes.
Q:Should I vaccinate my dog against kennel cough?
A:It is not a requirement but I would probably advise it especially if your dog is elderly or has an underlying medical condition.
